Apl’s medical team consists of compassionate and skilled clinicians who, in keeping with the overall mission, aim to prepare the future by giving individuals hope for the future through timely and consistent medical care. The medical component was born out of multiple needs assessment visits and meetings with local Haitian and Dominican officials. These efforts have given us insight in to disease frequency, but most importantly have produced recurring medical mission trips to provide acute and primary care to those who cannot afford it. Future efforts are underway for a permanent primary care clinic.

APL’s goal is to work collaboratively with the staff at the clinic in Banane, to improve primary care. Until adequate resource and a solid partnership is established frequent medical mission trips to continually gather data and treat acute and chronic conditions will be the focus.
