First Trip to Haiti

Founder and president Carolina Tavárez made the first trip to Haiti in July of 2012. She spent a couple of weeks in Anse-á-Pitres and met students from two different schools: Communautaire du Bon SamaritainAdventist Lysius Salomon. Carolina was able to distribute toys, school materials and higenic products to over 200 students. The children portrayed as eager learners and were very greatful for the English and Spanish lessons. They are waiting for the next visit this coming December 2012, on which more members of the APL team are hoping to go. For more pictures of Carolina’s trip, visit the “First trip to Haiti” album under the Photo Gallery tab.

A word from Carolina: I’m so grateful to God, our donors and APL staff for all their support on this first trip to Haiti. We were able to assist over 200 students! I don’t know how it happened, but the supplies multiplied like the fish and bread in the bible parable of John 6. Without your support, none of this would have been possible. As my students in Anse-à-Pitres would say, “Mesi anpil: Thank you so much”
